The First Pope

Saint Andrew's Celtic Church in Swannanoa, North Carolina recently completed a teaching series examining the issue of whether Peter was the first pope or Bishop of Rome. The study was led by Bishop John Dillard each Sunday morning at 10 AM at the church. The series looked at what the scriptures said as well as the writings of the Early Church Fathers regarding this topic. The teaching continued through the end of Lent and will be followed by the topic of Apostolic Succession. The public is invited to attend any of the church's teachings. The Pre Nicene Church

In May, after Pentecost, Saint Andrew's Celtic Church in Swannanoa, North Carolina will be holding a teaching series on the Pre Nicene Church. In this series the history of the Celtic Church and the development of Celtic Spirituality will be discussed. Other topics that will be examined are the origins of the Celtic people and the absorption of paganism by the Pauline Branch of Christianity. The series will be taught by the Rt. Rev. The Holy Bible

This study will look at how the books that are in the New Testament came into being, including exploring who wrote them and how they were chosen for placement in the canons. The Gnostic writings and "lost" books will be examined along with the texts the early Celtic Church used as their bible.
